Welcome

My name is David Burrows and I am a freelance translator of Spanish into English. This blog contains some of my favourite words, a (mostly) amusing explanation of said words as well as some of my musings about translation. I hope you enjoy it.

Giblets

Noun - the liver, heart, gizzard (also a great word) and neck of a chicken or other fowl.
From the French: gibelet - game bird stew.

Just be thankful that I didn't use an actual photo of some giblets.

Nothing fancy, no deeper meaning and no intellectual discourse. It just sounds good and is also very fun to say. It also fits in with my mild obsession with chicken. I also like giblet gravy.
